6 Hours of Silverstone, & Bubba Burger Sportscar Grand Prix at Long Beach


The official race calendar for the 2017 WEC season begins with the 6 Hours of Silverstone on April 16th. Porsche will field multiple teams for this opening event at the famed British circuit, featuring the dual 919 Hybrid and the 911 RSR efforts. Strong development characterizes the new 919 Hybrid’ technology including a more efficient powertrain, multiple aerodynamics packages, as well as reduction in total curb weight. Changes to the exterior both 919 Hybrid models are also evident on the outside with a new livery and car numbers. Both the 919 Hybrid and the 911 RSR teams will look to taste victory at Silverstone with the 911 RSR team looking to mirror double victory in the GTE-Pro class back in 2014.

Here stateside, the 2017 WeatherTech Sportscar Championship headed west for the Bubba Burger Sportscar Grand Prix at Long Bach on Saturday, April 8th. The Porsche GT Team 912 Car navigated the congested Long Beach street circuit and finished with a podium finish, taking home third. The two-car factory 911 RSR effort will be looking to improve on their performance at Long Beach at the Advanced Auto Parts SportsCar Showdown at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX on May 4-6.
